Every Matinee screening is a Hard of Hearing screening, unless otherwise stated. That is to say, the film will be captioned with subtitles.
In addition to this, there are a number of other aids to ensure your safety and enjoyment at Film Unit;
Before the screening, signs will be placed outside the auditorium explaining the house rules - staff will also be on hand to help and answer any questions. The key points of the house manager’s speech will also be summarised on screen before the film commences.
If the fire alarm sounds, the house lights will come on, the sound will cut and the curtains will close. In this case we will have printed cards explaining the situation and the procedure that must be followed. If the film is cancelled due to a non-emergency situation, a slide will be projected and printed cards will be distributed to highlight this information.
